As for the starter, it will crank very slowly and get hot = very fast. Have the components converted to the proper voltage at an = overhaul shop. Most likely a change of stator or rotor will do the = trick. The windings are a different number of turns and a different = guage; 12 v having less turns and thicker wire. Your certificated = engine will turn into an experinental if you modify it (doesn't meet = type design).
