There is a considerable amount of gear wear, and the compression is a bit off in one cylinder. With 1600 hours (and 33 years!) SMOH, it is time to do a complete overhaul or exchange. While we are at it, we would like to allow for a C/S prop, but want to avoid building a new exhaust or engine mount. How much should I expect to pay for a good rebuild or exchange? Which model numbers are near-drop-in replacements that won't require me to replumb or build a new set of baffles? In particular, there seem to be a bunch of O320-E2D engines in the used market. Are there significant differences between an E2D and an A2B?
