A runaway trim has been of concern to me and after
reading
the article suggested by Rob Logan it even more
real. I've
tried to remove the problem by using the trigger
finger switch on the Infinity stick grip as an interrupt circuit so
that
the trigger switch has to be depressed in order to
operate any of the trim servos. In a conversation with Jim Younkin
at
Trutrack he also suggested that you should set the
max travel on the trims so at full travel they never put the plane
in
an uncontrollable attitude. TruTrack also has a
product that
will prevent runaway trim while the autopilot is
on. If anyone
is interested in the interrupt circuit Kirk
Hammersmith was
good enough to provide that for me. I would be
interested
in other ideas on how to protect against runaway
trim
