I don't remember that it is vented so I think it has to be removed to fill from the brake bleed nipple. I initially filled the reservoir from the brake bleed nipple but to check and top the reservoir it seemed prudent to do it at the pedals. It also seemed like a good idea to look around in that area. But since your header is not removable the problem is a bit different, not easier. George Shattuck
