Denny - as with Lee, my #2 oil temps are fine, about the same as #1.  #3 and
#4 run the hottest for me but never a problem.  I take off with ram air so
that I don't starve #1 and #3 of cooling air, which was a big factor before I
discovered the benefits of ram air on take off.   I don't have any kind of
scoop like Lee.

I did learn that when mounting the cooler here, I had to mount it to the
baffle only.  Originally I had a bracket between the lower part of the
installed cooler and the cylinder head.  This made the installation very stiff
(good, I thought) but cracked the cooler flange where the bracket attached.
The cylinder head is moving in a different direction from the cooler and
fatigue was the result.  The Beech Sundowner has the cooler similarly
installed with no underside brace so we tried it, and after a year there's
been no sign of a problem.
