I agree completely that the equation I submitted is certainly close enough. I think I said it produces an APPROXIMATION which doesn't take atmospheric variables into account, and which requires the correct figures to be used (like rated RPM instead of 2700 and rated MAP instead of 29).
What stimulated my response was the fact that the original posted equation did not produce HP.
