What does Lycoming do that skews the Hp levels - - as compared, for example - - to TCM?
George,
If true, beats me..
If anyone has a better "formula" that can be used to approximate %power on the normally aspirated piston engines that most Lancairs use, please let me know - I have an inquiring mind. Besides, I need something simple for in flight comparison purposes. Especially since,as Lindbergh showed, power can be acheived more efficiently thru higher manifold pressure, low rpm than the other way around. Ok, Ok, that was with pre 1940 engines and non-computer designed and machined props.
