I only have a 235/320 so perhaps I don't belong in this discussion.  I am
IFR rated. (I had the rating before completing the Lancair) I agree with
everything John has said.
However, I'm very hesitant to fly much IFR in my glass airplane without
any lightning 'protection'.  We have discussed the lightning 'threat'
previously several times so I will not rehash it.   Am I the only one
with these concerns?  If so, how to y'all rationalize those concerns
away?  The low benign cloud/fog layer is reason enough to hold the
rating.  Earl
