I would definitely do the IFR training in the plane you are going to fly. I don't see the point on saving some money doing it in a spam can, which behaves nothing like the 4-P (the spammer is much more forgiving as I am sure that you know). And , IMHO, for you guys chucking around half a million into an airplane like the 4-P, I don't think 225 an hour plus around $20/hr for the instructor for a few hours is going to kill you. Plus you can spend around half the hours on a simulator...which is way cheap.
