I would get some instruction before you start doing acro. From your description, it sounds like you are confusing an aileron roll and a barrel roll.

I apologize if this sounds preachy or abrupt, but acro is a close cousin to aerobatics and it needs good instruction to do it safely. Your margins for G's and airspeed redlines are lower in these aircraft than I'm comfortable with, and I've done a heap of aileron rolls, barrel rolls and other acro.
