Dear All,
When I put my 320 together there was a lot of LML stuff about Nylafow and its limitations. Particularly its propensity to kink and swell under pressure. Spongy brakes were the result of the swelling and no brakes the kinking. I thought long and hard about this and modified my brakes to allow a heavier flexible line from the wheel wells to the brakes. I used the same flexible tubing used for the hydraulic rams on the gear legs. The Nylaflow follows the usual route until it gets to the position where it would normal fall down the main gear leg to the brake. Bonded to the inside of the BL50 rib is a bracket with a bulkhead fitting which takes the Nylaflow on one side and the flexible hydraulic pipe on the other. The black flexible pipe (I can't remember its proper name) then falls neatly down in a curve and is attached to the brake. When the wheels retract the pipe folds neatly up in a natural way. To date I have had no problems. I attach some photos of the installation. Photo 1 shows the mounting and bracket in the wheel well above the outer gear door. Photo 2 shows the flexible tube attached with 'P' clips to the gear door/leg. This geometry ensures the pipe cannot kink when the gear retracts.
Sorry the photos are not too good.
