Many Many heartfelt thanks to all who have responded = to my postings on the LML.

Thanks for making me feel useful once again, I am = still treating my severely bruised ego, and your comments and well wishes are = a great encouragement. My wife told me last evening, “You are a better = pilot than one who would beat himself up for life.  Under stress, you = considered several inputs and made the decision you thought best, and you walked = away, now you must rebuild so I can fly with you again.”  How’s = that for encouragement?  Just yesterday, I was thinking, “Do I really = want to fly with myself again?”

Thanks to all of you, and especially my bride, = I have now gone from “hanging it up” to considering rebuilding, = although I will never use this runway again in a Legacy.

Deep down, although I knew “I” could = handle this strip, and did successfully for quite a while, I suspected I had = no business REGULARLY using this strip.

I just thank GOD my wife wasn’t with me.  = For the first 4 months, I made her drive 30 minutes and picked her up at another = field just to be “super safe”.  I only took her with me on = two occasions from this field recently, and now have confirmed to myself = that I need to find another, not just adequate, but SAFE field to = operate from.

In 5 months and 116 hours in my Legacy, I thought = often, when away from this field, that I would like to have the same = exhilarating and comfortable feeling on landing and take-off at home that I do at other = fields.  I should have listened to my own thinking.  There is no question in = my mind that I made bad split second decisions because of this runway environment.  I had flying speed, just was under too much stress to realize it.

Fly safe out there, and again, thanks for the = profound thoughts you all have shared.
