All,
Thanx to those that responded with their thoughts on solving our door fit
problems. The consensus is that we must straighten the fuselage and door as
much as possible. We had come to that conclusion ourselves, however, we had
hoped for a more simple, less time consuming method. It's a shame we have
paid significant money for a fastbuild kit that requires us to redo poor
workmanship (this is not the first fastbuild problem we have encountered).
Anyway, we have removed the aft portion of the gearbox (see attached
pictures) and will jig things to achieve a flat fuselage bottom around the
gear doors. Then, we will have to straighten out the gear doors. What a
pain. Again, thanx for the help.
