David, I was at a composite seminar at OSH a few years ago. The speaker said that he went to inspect an airplane and something didn't seem right. He started doing the quarter test, tapping the airframe with a quarter to listen for bad laminations. The plane was full of them. It was in terrible structural shape. Turns out the guy was in Oregon or Washington and when it would get humid he would put in more catalyst to overcome the conditions. When he told the guy that his plane would never fly, his wife disappeared and came back carrying a chain saw, saying "I new this plane would never fly". With that the inspector left. Don't know what type of plane it was, though. Jeff PA28-180D Wheeler Express 6% __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
