On my ES, I got some spring loaded
push pins from the McMaster Carr Catalog, along with some stainless steel
D-rings. I bored out the D-ring a bit to fit the pins and hysoled
them into the ring. Now rather than screwing in the rings, I just insert
the push pins. As long as you drill out the top end of the tie down
receptacle so the pins can stick through about 1/2", they work great.
They're very sturdy and rock solid in the receptacles.
Next time I go to the airport I'll
take a couple of pictures and post them.
