Thanks for the response Ed.
That?s correct there is no joggle on the fuselage shell upper or lower.
There is a scribe line on the upper shell only. My kit is not that old, I picked it up May of 2002.  Maybe Lancair is
making the shells more difficult for the cheap builders like me to
build.
That way builders get more fed up and will buy the fast build door.

I called Vern for curiosity to see what an unpresurized door would cost.
It used to be $2500 and I thought that they now include them with the
ES kit that maybe they came down in price.  You know the economy of
scale thing.  They are making more so they can make them cheaper.
That was a mistake because now they want $6800 for the door.

I will not buy a door from Lancair out of principle, even if it takes me
months to
build it.  Also the fit of the stiffener is out by ½ inch on the front
no matter how
I adjust it.  The only good thing is that this is not my first a/c
either.  I guess it
is going to take some cutting, grinding, reshaping and refiberglassing.

Lancair?s quality with most of their parts is excellent but this part of
the kit is horrible.  The plans are atrocious with respect to the door and the part
fit is
substandard.  As Vern said to my wife ? the door has been a problem for
allot
of builders. It?s just easier to buy the fast build door.?
