Dave,
The location of your batteries is very interesting.  Did you have to move your rudder peddles aft to get them to fit?  Can you tell me approx. dimensions of your batteries (are they the size that fits into the lancair battery box supplied with the kit) ?  I'm assuming one on each side.  Any pictures you could post or send would be appreciated.
