If I had the space, it would be moved from the engine compartment to the cockpit. I do have a blast tube aimed at it now. I still have the failed regulator in my parts drawer and I have heard of another similar failure where the voltage was subsequently adjusted and is still in service. I think B&C products are generally very good as I am also using their 28 AH sealed battery, 60 amp alternator, starter and starter relay. Except for their class of batteries that I have used from the very beginning, all of their products have replaced other manufacturer's defective or underperforming parts. This list includes Lancair's starter relay, Skytech light weight starter, somebody's unremembered alternator and Lamar regulator. I have enough spare parts to build another airplane but I would never fly in it.
