I just had a top overhaul done last year and told the guy I did not want chrome because the rings never seated and it always burned oil and turned it black. He convinced me the newer chrome methods are OK. The first attempt left me using 1 quart about every 1.5 to 2 hours. He did it over and now I get about 1 quart to 2.5 hours. I've got about 100+ hours on the second attempt. Bottom line ---- NEVER AGAIN. Chrome sucks in my book!!!. Regards, John
