Jeff, if you would like to continue this discussion and keep it grounded
(pun intended) in physics, then by all means let's do it....maybe we'll
all learn something from it. If you can prove or show that this system
(dual alt/dual batt with continued operation with one alternator out on
essential buss)is unsafe in any way, please do so. I still hold that
I'm better than 90% of the spam cans flying using Bob's Z14 even with
one alternator out on the essential buss. Show me I'm wrong so I can
improve it immediately.
Sorry, you calling me a "punk" certainly doesn't prove anything. Also,
we are all here to try and help each other. If we can have logical
discussions about issues at hand, we can all learn from them and develop
better systems. However, name calling and making statements without
physics or factual data to back it up accomplishes little. All it shows
me is that you probably know very little about this subject, and are
stuck regurgitating 50 year old information and old wives tales.
We have the opportunity in our OBAM ships to do it better and do it the
right way. I'm committed to doing that, AND to showing others how to
also, all in the name of safety. If you have legitimate safety
concerns, then by all means, let's hear them. Please don't make this
into a pissing contest. This is about learning, not fighting.

SNIP>>For those that felt I was off in left field when I said I felt we
should
design our electrical systems to outlast our fuel endurance with
alternator out, here is a direct quote from BobN about this very
subject:>> SNIP

I am also reminded of a quote regarding a subject very similar to this
one:
Clint Eastwood in "Dirty Harry"-- "Do you feel lucky, punk?"
