There are a bunch of them flying around without header tanks who wants that fuel in there lap if they don't need it there. Before I sold my kit I checked with Lancair they even sent me some pictures of how to modify it. I moved the hyd. pump and the bat. up front and made the whole top section so it would come of by just pulling a couple of hinge pins out. It also makes the back of the instrument panel very easy to get to.
