I was under the impression that the only window
failures have been the windows in the door (?). If that is the case,
a change in the adhesive use at the work shop, at least up to this point, would
have had no effect on the number of failures. I would be interesting to
know if there has been any failures in the fast build doors that have been
available for the last few years. Has Lancair changed the type
of adhesive used on the fast build door? Have the window/doors that have
failed had the (ugly) area washers on the upper portion of the door
removed or countersunk to improve the aesthetics of the door? I would
rather have the problem address rather than limiting the pressure
differential. Its sort of like having a 300 kt airplane that you only fly
at 250 kts. When Brent has the data compiled then may be a pattern will be
reveled.
