Now I get it. Very helpful. I'll check on that before I drill any more

The belly skin in that area is backed by the walls of the nose gear
tunnel.
If there is curvature to it the rails won't straighten it out, they will
flex to the curve. I fastened the rails at the nose gear mounting point
and
the forewardmost mounting hole in the belly skin and did a flox release
to
get a straight platform to bolt the rails to. This resulted in having
to
body work the belly to fair in the aft portion of the door/hinge
assembly.
(At the worst point the doors were ~1/8" high).
