Bill:
I started mounting the step and found the same step height problem. I asked my wife to get in the plane with the step and because she has a bad knee, there is no way she could get into the plane even if I installed a handle. I have taken the step back out because I have to carry a ladder anyway. Why have the step if it cannot be used -  according to others it causes about a 2MPH drag.

Hey, all you ES builders..How did you resolve the issue with the step finishing 24" off the ground?  This appears to be a result of the "taller" gear on the later kits vs. the factory plane.
