Hi Pat,
You sounded very calm? Glad you made it down and back OK. I just read your email before I left on a flight form San Jose to Sedona at FL230. I want you to know that this was the first time I looked over my door window several times during the flight.
We all need to know some things if you can share them. How did you make your emergency decent? Was it loud? Did anything blow out the window hole? Have you looked at what was left of the window and determined where the crack or failure started? What kinds of things would you have done different?
I have a couple of small scuff marks on my door window form the construction and have always wondered if they would be a stress riser point? But I hear that all cracks have occurred from the bolt areas or the latch areas, if you could point to any of these areas or causes I would really appreciate it.
For sure I'm not one who wants to experience this at all.
I spoke with you once when I was building mine and Jim Barrett keeps telling me about you and trying to get me to Corona, soon maybe. I also have a house and hangar in Sedona and your welcome to stop here.

Thanks for sharing your story,

Jim Hergert
