Steve,
I made my own blisters by taking a large
piece of foam ( purchased from Aircraft Spruce) , shaped the top of the foam to
conform to the bottom of the cowl and glued in place with dabs of
micro. Took my favorite ES or Columbia picture and formed the cowls to
match. After foam was formed I put release tape on the foam and applied 6
bid. I had to destroy the foam to get them out but I'm very pleased the way
they turned out. Hope this helps. Good luck !

Subject: [LML] Exhaust Blisters
I'm installing the exhaust system on my SuperES and think
exhaust blisters would be needed to fair the lower pipes. Lancair says to use
a 4P lower cowling with the exhaust blisters already installed [$800.00/ 3
month wait] or order just the blisters [$165.00 ea/ 3 month delay]. Tim also
says blisters are not required and are very draggy. Can anyone comment?
Can't believe a three month delay [they're made in the Philippines]. Don't
they carry any stock? Blisters can't be all that hard to make? Does anyone
have a mold? Steve Myers N701SM
