Another option is what Jepps was showing at Sun-n-fun. They were using
the Compaq TC1000
(http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/tabletpc/tc1000.html). It is a
complete computer with a touch screen. Basically like a really large
palm pilot. But, it is also a FULL computer. The price is nice too.
Only about $1,500 street price for it.
At Sun-n-fun they were showing the FULL Jepps charts and they had the
flight planning software. Hook up a small battery printer to it and you
can print out any approach plate while in route. If I flew IFR all over
the US more than once a month, I would own this set-up! For now I???m
stuck in Florida teaching people how to fly.
