Craig,

Attached you will find photographs of the flap speed controller using the
Grainger two way valve. The valve is attached to the cylinder with two nipples
and an elbow.  It comes out of the valve with a 90 degree fitting for the hose
attachment. Notice the clamp around the two hoses.  This stabilizers the valve
mechanism and lessens any fatigue to the brass fittings.  A slot is made in
the top of the valve to accommodate a small screwdriver.  The seat has a hole
just over this valve so that a thin screwdriver can reach the valve stem.
This is how the adjustment is made.  A screw fitting is placed in the hole
in
the seat to maintain cabin pressure.

Make sure that the valve is connected to the cylinder with the adjustable part
in line with the flap up movement. Any desired up speed can be obtained
without any effect on the down speed.

You may be interested in the flap indicator set-up.  A right angle support is
bolted to the flap arm, a wire runs from the top of this arm to the flap
indicator.  The position of this right angle arm should allow the flap
indicator to fully travel with movement of the flaps.

Good luck with your project.  Hope to join you in the air soon.
