In my contract, I pointed out, I had purchased a carbon kit. In fact, I remember at that time it was offered as an additional 4000.00 option (Novenber 2001). I know Ron Jones had the same experience. At some point they made the carbon kit price the standard price and carbon parts like the cowls would cost extra. I had Lancair remove the extra charge. My kit # is 198 and Ron's is 181.
