You are right, I also had to adjust the regulator and I also do not remember which way I made the adjustment although usually, righty-tighty so I probably lefty-loosey. Also, on my requlator, the adjustment is held in place by bendable tabs which you must bend up to rotate and then bend the appropriate two tabs to capture the setting. Identifying leaks are your first task. adjustment is the second.  I am=20= under
the impression that pumps either work or they fail. Any one else have

Never a slow failure.
