Something to think about:

 

The Legacy gascolator, as mounted per the plans, is simply impossible to drain on preflight.

 

If one is to cut a hole in the cowling in order to properly drain the gascolator, the hole would have to be a rather long oblong hole (quite visible and ugly) due to the shape of the cowling below the gascolator.

 

I’m exploring workable options, but if anyone has solved this challenge using the location of the gascolator from the plans, I would like to know what you did, please.
