Joe,
Congratulations. What a windfall for Lancair..and my project (IV-P).
We've had a few conversations with you while we were in Oshkosh the last
couple of years and based upon that brief introduction and our
experience with Aero-Cool, we're convinced that Lancair will have a very
approachable and knowledgeable captain at the helm.
Wally has a good idea. You also have a ready source of builders that
would be willing (anxious) to assist with the development of not only
improved manual(s), but also some factory approved (reviewed and edited)
"how I do it" segments. It could be with accompanying drawings, photos
or even mpegs. I'm struggling with "gaps." All the builders know what
I mean. How about window bezels, flap retraction timing valves, antenna
mounting and location, etc. This sure would be a valuable asset to
builders (and to your sales force.) I think that you have a very loyal
group of builders to call upon to provide some "best practices" for
building. Maybe it's something we (the builders, your builder's assist
people and you) could talk about at Oshkosh.
See you there!

>>Joe,
Welcome aboard! The comments about the LIV manual are absolutely on the
mark. There are other improvement to the kit that just make good sense.
Perhaps you could put up a web site where builders could post their
ideas to
you.
