I use Cab-O-Sil frequently in my micro filler. I mix up the epoxy and micro normally then add 1 to 2 rounded teaspoons of Cab-O-Sil "per pump" of epoxy, depending on how "stiff" the mix needs to be. Vertical surfaces applications can be done with little or no sagging/ sliding or running of the mix.

I learned about using Cab-O-Sil from Andrew Marshall's book: Composite Basics -5. He says it does not compromise the strength of the epoxy. I checked with Mark at Lancair and he told me it was OK to use it but he thought it might add a little bit of weight to the micro mix. It saves me a LOT of time. If it adds weight it must be very little because a batch of "micro with" and "micro without" weigh exactly the same on my scales.

I order mine from Wicks Aircraft Supply.
