When the FAA inspected my aircraft, they wanted to see white, green and red zones on the airspeed indicator. He was perfectly happy with the experimental SFS display and didn't require any markings on the backup airspeed indicator. The FAA also wanted to see the peito stadic/transponder IFR check card you must get every 24 months. The guy who did my IFR checkout had an issue with one range of alts with my excremental EAU, but I changed the zero offset (not slope) to fix the error. at first he was extremely alarmed, and asked "how can I be sure you don't change that again?" to which my answer was: "Why would I wanta make my aircraft less accurate, and I promise not to change it" and showed him how it lived through a power cycle and he was happy and gave me the card.. the SFS will not display an ILS or GPS overlay, so you must have a CDI for those certified radios and use the SFS boxes for reference only. -- Utopian Maturity: Eternity, Liberty, Equality and now Fraternity & Altruism.
