I used a quality gap seal tape made by 3M and intended for the Diamond
Katana for our first flight on N990Y last Sunday. Orin noticed a slight
"buzz" which he could cause to go away by raising the nose. Hal Woodruff
immediatly suggested the gap tape as a problem. Hal is a former glider
pilot with experience with wing gap tape. We removed the tape and no more
buzz. The tape had blistered on the bottom of the right wing back aft by
the flap. That was all it took to cause a buzz. Later Orin remembered
seeing a "T" bulb rubber extrusion which has been used to fill the gap.
Does anyone know more about the "T" bulb used here? Like maybe where to
order it and the part number??? It would save a heck-of-a-lot of searching
if one of you geniuses out there has already been there and back.
Thank you in advance,
Walter Dodson N990Y now 9.6 hrs. hobbs (gear up time)
