To Whom It May Concern: For information about insurance.

 

I just insured my Legacy with AIG (AOPA) insurance agency. 

 

Cost for $200,000 hull insurance while in build status, with 1,000,000 liability (100,000 per person) was $2238 per year. $100 deductible. Interesting exclusions on deductible on first 25 hours, and an exclusion for mold or fungus illnesses caused by construction epoxy!

 

I called Falcon, and for the same insurance they wanted $2275.

 

I also called Aviation Insurance Corporation, they refused to quote me a price?!?!?!?!

 

When aircraft flies, policy premium will go up to $4800 for my experience level. (26,000 hours, Ex-Navy Pilot, ATP, retired AAL Captain)  OUCH!!!!!!!!!  Guess they don’t like Lancairs?

 

Good luck, and let me know if there are any better rates out there with reputable insurance companies.
