I have personally met Bob Pastusek and Jim White, who are doing a = beautiful job on thier IV-Ps. Personal opinion is that not having Bob = contribute to the list is sad - he has a wealth of ideas (which I'm = incorporating in my IV-P) that could have been shared by everyone. This = list could have been a much more valuable resource if he had = contributed. Example of recent flaming is Engine Air - with them out of the business, = what choices do we have? Turbines & Continental TSIO-550 as far as I = know. Turbines I know nothing about - no comment. Continental, in my = opinion, is poor at best. A friend of mine on our field, who has a = IV-P, has about 700 hrs. TT on his 550 and the classic problems are = beginning to appear - low compression and oil leaks (which appear to be = caused by high crankcase pressure). The damn thing is leaking oil out = of the valve covers, among other places! It is a shame that an engine = that costs $62,000. in today's dollars is that sorry! Who dreamed up = the TBO? Rant mode off (grin). For what it's worth, I'll be standing = in line to pay my $62K about next May. I want to re-emphasize what Bob & Paul have said - let everyone have = their say and let it go, unless there is good reason otherwise. If that = happens, then we might see some good ideas start flowing.
