Another deer incident,

In 2000, I took another pilot friend on a flight from Salt Lake No 2 in the
early evening.  At dark we landed at No 2 and on approach I thought, "I
think I will land long tonight."  I did. and were we lucky.  On approach
George said "Did you see that? It was a deer."  We felt nothing.  I saw ears
only for a brief second low and left along the fuselage side where I was
sighting for the touchdown.  We landed, inspected the plane and found
nothing.   I haven't landed long since!!!!!!!!!

Had I made the normal approach and touchdown we would have created ground
venison a-la-mode over my 360.  I am  convinced that fleeting thoughts are
more than coincidence and that the Great Traffic Controller in the sky
ordered me to land long.  I am glad for compliance to that command.

How many times have you had thoughts, acted  on them and were glad that you
did?  Conversely, how many times did you have thoughts and did not comply
and were hurt by the results?

My uncle, a 26,000 hour pilot flew B25s into Italy, I asked him that
question and he said he followed feelings.  On one time it saved him, his
crew and the plane.
