As a builder of 235 kit #52, let me quibble a bit about those words. It
would be more correct to say: "Lancair's original *construction manual* did
not require stiffening webs."
In my opinion, all early LNC2's "require" such stiffeners (the extension of
the lower aileron skin that holds the counter-weight was quite flexible and
therefore, a pretty good spring) - it just wasn't appreciated back then, I
guess.
