Full Time Lean (don't know the last word). An advanced FADEC system could monitor each combustion cycle, using lean of peak operations almost full time. For example it could use rich of peak operations for maximum available power and go Lean of Peak from climb to landing, thereby completely avoiding close to peak operation, minimizing fuel consumption, reducing fuel octanage requirements and reducing engine wear and tear. George is working on such a system called Prism. This seems to be FADEC done right instead of the rich of peak only system continental is working on.
