The engine runs too hot in general. There are several reasons for that. One, the POH recommends 25 squared for climb, which is a very bad idea. But, more importantly, while there is a lot of reasonably nice workmanship in the engine compartment, they didn't get it "right". I can make a small number of specific changes to the baffling and probably lower the CHTs of the three hottest cylinders by 30F or more, each. I really don't understand why airframe people that install engines just can't "get it right" when it comes to the details of engine cooling air.
