FWIW, I do a GUMP every time I let go of the PTT while in the pattern or on
approach.  While flying my 172 one might regard this as overkill but the
habit is always there.  I also announce "Base to final, three down and
locked" (or "welded" as the case may be) and look for gear legs etc as an
additional check.

Glad you're ok and that your ship will be.

I know we're all at risk for an "experimental" landing.  I just offer these
habits in case they might help someone someday.
