I'm sure you've analyzed this 'experiment' in you mind to no end. Hey, it could happen to the best of us. A few times, I've found myself doing my GUMP check on short final due to distractions while in the pattern. Normally, I do the GUMP check right after I dump the gears on downwind, another check on base and a final check on final...
