It has been about 300 hours since reinforcing the spinner backplate with
doublers and 200 hours since replacing the weaker "squeezed" rivets with
bucked rivets.  When I took off the spinner and inspected the backplate,
there were cracks in the plate and the doublers.  Furthermore, the rivets had
pulled apart in some place as much as 3/32 inch.

I strongly suggest regular inspection of the Lancair spinner backplate -
especially if you are using the Hartzell Constant Speed prop.
