One of my exhaust pipes was too close to the fuselage and early on I noticed
serious heat on the area aft of the pipe. I went to the auto parts store
and bought a chrome tailpipe extension (about six to eight in. long) just
like the one I put on the tailpipe on my 1940 Ford back in high school
(1955). It had just a bit of a deflection on the upper edge. It might have
cost $5.00 or less. I have had no further problems 800 Tach hours later.
Works good, lasts a long time. I've replaced it once.
