He said they have experimented with a new mod that will lower the firewall attachment point and bring it out. So far it has solved the problem without incident. If any builder has done this could you please comment? They have given a half dozen of these out and will be doing a production run of this mod soon. The canopy can still be installed and the gas struts mounted at a later date with the new parts.
