I posted my success with AON Risk, a group that has insured my plane over the past three years. Two weeks ago I received my renewal packet which indicated that AON RIsk had been purchased by AOPA Insurance. I filled out the annual re-application and sent it on in. Much to my surprise, I opened the mail today to find my insurance policy will be cancelled, effective 2/99. "We no longer insure this model." Now remember, this is just for builder's insurance. Due to the many accidents/IV's flying, it appears that many insurers are pulling away from this aircraft - AOPA, AVEMCO, NATIONAL and probably others. This will leave us all in deep trouble unless a solution surfaces soon. You might want to check with your companies to see if you're going to be dropped at renewal time. It's been a while since I've seen ideas passed around concerning this issue. Anyone working on off shore plans, etc.? Has anyone got a list of companies who will still insure this plane? What options are left at this point in time? Help!
