Hello,
A couple of us Lancair owners have organized Lancair fly-outs on weekends and are having a great time flying our planes to real cool destinations. Last year, we had three Lancairs meet up at Tangier Island (great crab cakes and soft-shelled crabs).
Just this weekend, Stuka organized a Penns Cave fly-out. We had four Lancairs fly-out to Penns Cave, then a total of five Lancairs 'invaded' Altoona airport for a great lunch. At Penns Cave, we went for the boat tour of the underground cavern. Very nice. Prior to departure, Mark 'Speed Demon' Ravinski performed his signature 'red-devil' fly-by. It was awesome!
Altoona was only a 15-Lancair-minute trip from Penns Cave. Food was very good. Below are some pics, courtesy of Bill 'Stuka' Harrelson.
So, if anybody has any suggestions of other cool places we can visit, please post them here. This is a really great way to enjoy our aircraft and meet other Lancair owners in the process.
