The edge of the glare shield, if rounded can be wrapped with leather both on
the  underside and top side without a french seam often seen on cessnas or
pipers.  Jan Stroh did my 360 and we discussed idea and went for it and it
turned out well.  We used 3/8 in sound proofing foam on the underside of the
glare shield past the instrument panel face and then wrapped the shield both
on the under and top side with the 1/8 inch backing foam for the leather
then we applied the leather.  You must of course stretch the leather on the
top and then gather  it on the underside ( with very minimal evidence of
gathering on the underside.).  We were able to wrap the edge, it looks neat,
about5/8 inch wide and  looks quite professional.
