Rick:

You have two reasonable choices.  Cannon firld at Reno or Truckee airport at
the end of lake Tahoe.

Reno will probably require a flight plan with an arrival window and most
likely will be very busy.

Truckee is no tower so get there when you want to.

In either case you will need a car and you should reserve it early.
